KVIB in Phoenix flips to Soft AC

1

kvibAt noon on Wednesday, Riviera Broadcasting’s KVIB in Phoenix flipped from Spanish AC to Soft AC “95.1 The Oasis,” promising 55 minutes of “Lite and Refreshing” music every hour. The format change puts the station head to head with Clear Channel’s AC “99.9 KEZ” KESZ and CBS Classic Hits 94.5 KOOL – a fact that was underscored by the first two songs played: the Little River Band’s “Cool Change” and the Eagles “Take It Easy” as the first two songs.

“We’re excited to bring this new format to Phoenix, and provide a place to escape the over-hyped, high-energy world we live in today,” said Riviera Broadcasting COO Jose Rodiles. “By playing familiar songs from superstar artists, 95.1 The Oasis will quickly become a favorite in the Valley, not only to the listening audience, but to our advertising partners as well. Many of the songs we will play are not currently being heard anywhere else in Phoenix.”

Artists that listeners can expect to hear on KVIB include Billy Joel, Madonna, Lionel Richie, Adele, Michael Buble, Kelly Clarkson, Elton John, Whitney Houston, The Eagles, Mariah Carey, and Phil Collins.

  1. Love your format. Soo many songs being played that I haven’t heard in years. One request; it would be great if you could give the title and artist across the radio while the song is playing. It would certainly settle some discussions, shall we say, as to who it is.

Thanks and keep up the great music!!
