Leaving are Glenn Beck, Dave Ramsey, Dennis Miller, Phil Hendrie and other talkers: Townsquare Media’s News/Talk KROD-AM 600 will be the new ESPN Radio affiliate in El Paso on 1/18, replacing Clear Channel’s KHEY-AM 1380. Some existing KROD programming will remain, such as Sports Talk, Crunch Time with Mando “The Monster” Medina, Friday Night High School Football and the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns, according to The El Paso Times.
KROD will air popular ESPN shows Mike & Mike, The Herd with Colin Cowherd, The Scott Van Pelt Show and The Doug Gottlieb Show. It also will carry ESPN sports broadcasts of Major League Baseball, NBA and next season’s college bowl games.
KHEY will grab a full Fox Sports Radio after the move, Albert Garcia, Assistant PD for sister station KTSM tells RBR-TVBR. He says the station will not be carrying any local programming and will be syndicated 24/7.
