WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Senior Director of Government Relations for the main voice Inside the Beltway for the nation’s educational non-commercial broadcast television stations has been promoted to VP of Government and Public Affairs.
Jennifer Kieley is already in the new role at America’s Public Television Stations, rising from a post she first took in August 2023. Kieley has been with APTS for 19 years, and started as a Congressional liaison. In July 2009, she was promoted to Director of Government Relations.
In her new role, Kieley will manage congressional relations, state government liaison, work with federal departments and agencies, communications, grassroots and grasstops advocacy.
“Jen has served APTS for over 18 years with exceptional skill, loyalty and thoughtful leadership,” said APTS President/CEO Kate Riley. “She has helped our organization and member stations navigate difficult times and successfully seize opportunities. Her collaborative nature and commitment to building consensus and working effectively with internal and external stakeholders will continue to serve APTS well. Jen’s deep knowledge and appreciation for the work of our stations, the public media system, the legislative process and the political landscape is a great asset to APTS and the public broadcasting community as a whole.”
Prior to joining APTS, Kieley served as a legislative consultant for the National Water Resources Association and lobbied for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
