Kevin Weatherly Exits Spotify For A Second Run At KROQ

LOS ANGELES — At 106.7 on the FM dial, a “World Famous” Alternative radio has come under extreme scrutiny from the local media. A plethora of changes that saw the dismantling of the long-running Kevin & Bean morning show; the exit of talent including Striker, Sluggo and Kat Corbett; and the eventual return to New York of programmer Mike Kaplan created a world of SoCal frustrations for Audacy Corp. and the team overseeing KROQ-FM, licensed to Pasadena.

Audacy has now looked to the station’s 1990s glory years as a way for KROQ to gain audience share against fierce competition from the likes of iHeartMedia, Santa Monica College and California State University Northridge. The company is welcoming back as SVP of Programming the individual who exactly 30 years ago was named to succeed Andy Schuon.
