SANTA MONICA, CALIF. — After 45 years of dedicated service, Teresa Samaniego is retiring as Vice President of Diversity and Community Engagement at KABC-7 in Los Angeles.

Taking her role is the Director of Community Engagement at KTRK-13 in Houston.

In an email distributed this morning by President/GM Wendy Granato to KABC-TV staff, she revealed that Brandon De Hoyos will, like her, be making the move to Burbank from ABC Local Stations’ station serving the Texas Gulf Coast.

At the same time, KTRK-13 investigative reporter Kevin Ozebek is also relocating to Southern California; he’s been at KABC over the last few weeks to assist with coverage of the devastating Eaton and Palisades Fires, which continue to burn.

Before joining KTRK, Ozebek worked as an investigative reporter at Sunbeam Television’s famed WSVN-TV “7News” in Miami-Fort Lauderdale.

“I think both will be tremendous additions to our team, and I know you will love working with them as much as I have,” Granato said.

KTRK General Manager Mike Carr also commented on the moves. “I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to them both,” said Carr, whose station was gearing up to cover a historic snow storm. “Their contributions to KTRK are greatly appreciated and I know they will both do great things in L.A. I know we will fill these roles with equally talented individuals prepared to meet the diverse needs of the Houston community.”
