No, we’re not talking about the famed University of Miami and National Football League head coach. Rather, this Jimmy Johnson is the President of Johnson Broadcast Ventures, and he’s agreeing to snap up a Class D daytime-only Full Service AM radio station in a community along the busy I-95 corridor due north of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.

The facility Johnson’s group is acquiring is WEVA-AM 860 in Emporia, Va., and it is paying $25,000 to Colonial Media Corp. for the facility.

A four-page agreement was submitted over the Independence Day holiday weekend with the FCC for regulatory approval. It was signed by Colonial Media head James Vautrot.

Serving as the seller’s legal counsel is Colby May, Esq.

Johnson’s legal counsel in this transaction is Putbrese, Hunsaker & Trent’s John C. Trent.
