truTV has ordered seven episodes of the series “Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura.” A pilot for the series reportedly was well received at the network’s Upfront presentation.
He’s been a Navy SEAL, WWE wrestler and Governor of Minnesota. “Now, Jesse Ventura is about to face his greatest challenge yet: uncovering the most compelling plots and schemes,” declares the pitch for the series.
“We received a very positive response when we showed a preview of Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura at this year’s advertising upfront presentation, so it’s very exciting to be able to greenlight it for a full series,” said Marc Juris, Executive VP and General Manager of truTV/In Session.
The Ventura series is one of three shows produced for truTV by A. Smith & Co. Productions, known for Hell’s Kitchen, Crash Course and I Survived a Japanese Game Show. The other two projects are the four-part series “Full throttle Saloon” and two-part project “Surprise Inspection. Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura is slated to premiere on truTV in late 2009, while the other two shows are slated for the network in late 2009 or 2010. All three projects will be executive produced by A. Smith & Co. founders Arthur Smith and Kent Weed as well as A. Smith’s Frank Sinton.
