Jeff Andrulonis in the past year has refocused his radio station ownership on the Carolinas, and that’s seen his Colonial Media + Entertainment shed properties in the Twin Tiers of New York and Pennsylvania.
Now, Colonial is saying goodbye to an AM and two FM translators in Maryland.
It’s a $350,000 deal that sees Colonial sell WHGM-AM 1330 in Havre de Grace, Md., sandwiched between Baltimore and Wilmington, Del.
With the Class B AM with 5kw daytime power and just 23 watts at night from 1 tower come FM translators W263CQ and W298CG, in Cheseapeake City and Bel Air, respectively.
The stations are branded as “WHGM Gold,” and it airs an Oldies format.
Terms see the buyer, Maryland Media One LLC, make a $50,000 deposit. The remainder will be honored in a Promissory Note, with a 15-year term. The Note’s interest rate is Prime plus 3% — with a minimum floor of 6% and maximum of 12%, adjustable annually.
The buyer is headed by Steve Clendenin. And, the deal makes him a first-time licensee.

But, he’s operated WHGM since May 2019, and is also President/CEO of Maryland News Network.
“I founded and launched Maryland’s first and only statewide radio network,” he says on his LinkedIn profile. “We provide news, sports, political, special events and public affairs programming to affiliate radio stations around the state.”
In addition, Clendenin is the owner of the SFMSports regional high school and college sports broadcast network.
Early experience includes stints as a GM for First Broadcasting and its WAMD-AM in Aberdeen, Md., and as a PD for Great Scott Broadcasting’s WKHI-FM in Salisbury-Ocean City, Md., from January 2006-July 2007; it is not associated with the current WKHI, a different operation.
He’s also been on-air at the former WRQX-FM in Washington, D.C., and as a weekend air talent at WLIF-FM and WWMX-FM in Baltimore.
