Jamtraxx Readies A Wisconsin-Bound Translator

For 25 years, “The Lighthouse” has served a portion of Madison, Wisc., via an FM translator relaying programming heard on a Class B licensed to Rockford, Ill.

Now, the translator has been sold, and it is set to shift to a commercial operation following a facility upgrade.

In a transaction valued at $100,000 expected to appear Dec. 13 in the FCC’s database, Faith Center of Rockford, Ill., is selling W277AE at 103.3 MHz in Madison to Fusion Radio LLC.

The facility presently reaches only areas west of downtown Madison with 38 watts of power.

According to broker Kozacko Media Services, representing the buyer, Fusion will improve the facility and install programming intended to compete against the market’s commercially licensed operators.

This includes iHeartMedia and Entercom.

Fusion Radio’s principal partner is Rob Austin who operates Jamtraxx Media, a Chicago-based multimedia company which offers “extensive radio programming solutions through programming, mix show syndication, production and imaging.”

The Jamtraxx website notes that the company “has also recently expanded to consultation on new and innovative radio formats, such as SPIN-FM.”

Could this point to a new competitor for top-rated WZEE-FM “Z104,” the iHeart-owned CHR/Pop station serving the state capital?
