Jackson Hewitt Tax Service has signed 22squared Atlanta as its new AOR for brand planning, creative, media buying/planning and design responsibilities. The first creative will launch in January and will include television, radio, out-of-home, direct mail and social media.

The $17-million dollar account (not including online spend) was previously held by Zimmerman, which didn’t participate in the review. Other finalists included The Richards Group and GSD&M.

“We chose 22squared over some of their larger, more nationally recognized competitors due in large part to their creative talent and their expertise in the growing areas of digital and social media,” said Debra K. Dowd, Jackson Hewitt chief marketing officer, in a statement. “We look forward to utilizing their capabilities to grow a strong consumer advocate base for the Jackson Hewitt brand.”

22squared clients also include Baskin-Robbins, Buffalo Wild Wings, The Costa Rica Tourism Board, Florida’s Natural Growers, Publix Super Markets, Inc., Shoe Carnival, Southeast Toyota Distributors, and others.
