A Class D AM radio station that serves as the originating station for an FM translator airing a Classic Hits format branded as “Boomer 102.5” is being acquired by the company that’s seeking to attract fans of artists ranging from Ben E. King and the Bee Gees to R. Dean Taylor in Columbus, Ga.
WBOJ-AM 1270 in Columbus, Ga., is being sold by 88.5 The Truth Inc. to PMB Broadcasting.
That’s the local broadcaster owned by James Martin and his wife, Debra Martin.
With Seth Williams of Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth serving as legal counsel, paperwork has been submitted for regulatory approval allowing PMB to acquire the AM for a mere $100.
WBOJ has been the home of “Boomer” since August 2016 and from 2004-2015 carried the WSHE call letters once found in Fort Lauderdale (and Chicago).
