One month ago, he took to LinkedIn to share the happy news that he’s starting a new position in media advertising sales for a major broadcast media company. Now, it’s official: Dan Lanzano is out at Warner Bros. Discovery and has joined the No. 1 broadcast TV station owner in the U.S.
Lanzano today is in the newly created role of SVP/National Advertising Sales for Nexstar Media Group.
This sees Lanzano maintaining oversight of national advertising sales across all of Nexstar’s
national media portfolio, including The CW Network, NewsNation, digital networks Antenna TV and Rewind TV, and The Hill.
Lanzano will also manage agency and client relationships for Nexstar’s sports, direct response and paid programming businesses.
Based in New York City, Lanzano reports to Nexstar Advertising Executive Vice President and Head of National Sales Todd Braverman.
“I’m extremely pleased to add Dan to Nexstar’s Advertising Sales leadership team,” Braverman said. “I’m confident that his innovative thinking and broad experience will help us drive strategic partnerships, maximize our revenue streams, and lead the growth of Nexstar’s advertising business.”
Lanzano, who was a VP/Sales Manager at Warner Bros. Discovery from January 2018 until his early January 2024 departure, said, “I’m excited to be joining Nexstar, where we have a
powerful suite of media assets that enables us to create deeper, more innovative strategic opportunities for our advertising clients.”
Lanzano transitioned to WBD from Turner, where he rose from Account Executive to VP/Sales Manager. From June 2007-May 2012, he was in sales at CNN, joining following his graduation from Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y.
