ION Television has acquired all five series of the hit ABC sitcom series “George Lopez” from Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. It will air on ION Thursdays beginning 9/29 with a three-hour block from 1pm-4pm ET/PT, on Fridays from 1pm-6pm ET/PT and again on Sundays from 10pm-3am ET/PT.
The Lopez deal comes on the heels of ION’s recent acquisitions of other hit series including “Leverage,” “Psych,” “Monk” and “House.” The series also joins the network’s increasing schedule of the popular off-net series “Without a Trace,” “Criminal Minds,” “Ghost Whisperer” and ION’s first original police drama “Flashpoint,” premiering 10/18, with new originals.
