It’s happened again. A major media entity, this time FuboTV, has become victim of a cyberattack. Is there no way to guard a broadcast media company — MVPD or station owner — from such an incidents?
The topic has been a big one for more than one year, and in October 2021 Lisa Plaggemier, today the Executive Director with the Washington, D.C.,-based National Cybersecurity Alliance, offered important insight and intelligence on what a media company should consider to prevent it from happening in their organization.
At the time, Sinclair Broadcast Group had suffered a cyberattack, crippling newsrooms across several markets. That ransomware incident followed similar incidents at Cox Media Group, Audacy Corp., Urban One and Max Media.
