An 89-watt FM translator serving La Grande, Ore., and neighboring towns such as Union in a rural portion of Eastern Oregon, is trading hands.
The buyer? It’s the group led by Randy and Debra McKone.
Grande Ronde Christian Radio Association is selling K243AA in Union, Ore., to KJDY LLC.
That’s an entity associated with the McKones, who in June 2020 expanded their group of radio stations across central Washington and Oregon, by grabbing KYQT-AM 1230 and FM translator K256DC and KSQB-FM 92.7 in Burns, Ore.
It’s a deal that paired the facilities with a group of stations operating under the Elkhorn Media Group name, including KJDY-FM 94.5 in Canyon City, Ore., acquired in 2015.
The FM translator is being acquired for $3,000.
Serving as the McKone’s legal counsel in this transaction is Mark Lipp of Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth.
