The world’s largest multi-age group Flag Football tournament operator, “dedicated to advancing flag football on a global stage,” has named the nation’s biggest owner of broadcast radio stations its official media partner.
The collaboration between The International Flag League (iFlag) — formerly USA Flag — is designed to “amplify athlete stories, league content, and the growing impact of flag football across communities worldwide” via iHeartMedia‘s platform of audio content delivery vehicles.
The agreement includes cross-marketing collaboration from both brands with promotion nationally across iHeartMedia’s portfolio of broadcast stations, podcasts and other consumer touchpoints. “This partnership with the International Flag League showcases iHeart’s commitment to supporting emerging sports and the communities that champion them,” said Michael Biondo, President of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships for iHeartMedia. “By combining iFlag’s explosive growth with iHeart’s unmatched reach, we’re creating new opportunities for athletes, fans and brands to engage with the sport like never before.”
For iHeartRadio, gaining direct access “to the rapidly growing flag football audience, original league-driven content and year-round engagement opportunities tied to tournaments, athletes and community-driven events” is seen as a plus. “As flag football continues its rise as one of the fastest-growing sports worldwide, the collaboration positions iHeart at the forefront of an emerging global movement, delivering authentic, high-energy sports storytelling to listeners across its expansive network,” the company said.
