TROY, N.Y. — He’s been the Area President for iHeartMedia’s stations across the Albany-Schenectady-Troy; Poughkeepsie; and Sussex, N.J. Nielsen Audio markets and before that was based in Nashville as President/COO for Buntin Out-of-Home Media LLC.

Now, he’s heading back to Music City USA to run iHeart’s stations there.

Howard Greiner has been named Metro President for iHeartMedia Nashville.

As Metro President, Greiner will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations across multiple platforms including broadcast, digital, mobile, social and live events for the Nashville market and will report to Nick Gnau, Division President for iHeartMedia.

Nashville also happens to be the home base for the Premiere Network-syndicated Bobby Bones Show, offered to Country radio stations across North America.

“Nashville is an extremely important market for iHeartMedia,” said Hartley Adkins, President of the Markets Group for iHeartMedia. “Howard continues to demonstrate strong leadership and that combined with his expertise in media, advertising and sales, I am confident he will build upon the incredible success and strong reputation that iHeartMedia Nashville has with its listeners, advertising partners and the community.”

In Nashville, iHeartMedia has seven audio brands. They include the market’s No. 1 Country station, WSIX-FM; Top 40 WRVW “107.5 The River”; Classic Rock WNRQ; Hip-Hop WUBT; News/Talk WLAC-AM and FM translator W252CM at 98.3 MHz; W248BQ at 97.5 MHz, home to “BIN: Black Information Network”; and digitally focused offering “The Big Legend.”

Before taking the job in Albany, where he attended SUNY Albany as a college student, Grenier’s career was focused on outdoor advertising. This includes 5 1/2 years at Whiteco Outdoor, from August 1991-December 1996; and as President of U.S. Outdoor from December 1997 through March 2000.
