NBC Telemundo License LLC is facing an FCC fine for one of its California stations.
The commission proposed an $8,000 penalty for KVEA(TV), Corona, California.
The station could be on the hook for $8,000.
In filing its license renewal application, NBC Telemundo was honest. It told the commission the station hadn’t aired Children’s Television Programming Reports or kept documentation for the previous eight years, the entire license term.
The announcements began airing in 2014 and now the station has a procedure to ensure that continues.
The commission said its good the station recognized the failure and put a procedure in place to prevent a reoccurrence, however that doesn’t excuse the eight-year lapse.
The licensee has 30 days to pay or appeal.
