A Class D daytime-only AM radio station serving a South Carolina city between Spartanburg and Gastonia, N.C., could see its license revoked. Why? It hasn’t paid its full FCC regulatory fees for more than a decade.

Hope Broadcasting faces the death of WFGN-AM 1180 in Gaffney, S.C., because of its long-overdue fees to the Commission.

According to Media Bureau Chief Holly Saurer and Office of the Managing Director, Mark Stephens, Hope has unpaid regulatory fee debt of $1,309.54 for FY 2010; $1,355.22 for FY 2012; $1,361.69 for FY 2013; $1,314.33 for FY 2014; $1,280.78 for FY 2015; $188.24 for FY 2016; and $1,394.42 for FY 2022.

WFGN dates to 1948 and presently airs a religious format. It has a pending license renewal, dating to August 2019.
