HAIKU, HI — In the land of the paniolo, Upcountry Maui’s native Hawai’ian cowboys, a Class C1 FM with a tower atop Haleakala has served this segment of the population — along with anyone else who enjoys contemporary Country music. It’s run by H Hawaii Media, led by George Hochman.
However, ownership of the station until now has involved other shareholders. And, according to the FCC, changes of control of the licensee in 2017 and again in 2020 were made without Commission authorization. Now, Hochman and the Commission are resolving the matter with a Consent Decree absolving him of guilt.
