Highwater Fails To Complete Planned Colo. Radio Deal

In August 2024, RBR+TVBR reported on the sale of a group of radio stations in Colorado to  a 50/50 partnership between Emily and Jake Rishavy for $1.75 million. On January 21, the FCC was told by the seller that the deal has failed to close.

As such, the eventual fate of KBVC-FM in Buena Vista, KWUZ-FM in Poncha Springs and both KGKG-AM and K275CR and KVRH-FM in Salida, Colo., is unknown, as Three Eagles Communications will likely look for a new buyer.

“Heart of the Rockies Radio” has been regularly recognized by the Colorado Broadcasters Association with multiple Awards of Excellence. Danny “Dan R” Ridenour serves as Operations Manager and News Director for the properties.

With Frank Montero of Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth serving as the seller’s legal counsel, Three Eagles head Gary Buchanan had agreed to the deal with the Rishavys.

No reason was disclosed as to why a non-consummation notice was filed with the Commission last week.

Jake Rishavy is Executive Director of The Chaffee County Economic Development Corporation.
