Mike Renda is set to retire as the GM of FOX’s owned-and-operated station serving the Motor City.

The individual chosen to succeed him at WJBK-2 has now been revealed.

That would be Greg Easterly, the company said in a report distributed nationally via Associated Press.

Easterly has been VP of Group Operations for Tribune Media, which is merging with Nexstar Media Group pending FCC approval. Before that, he served as GM of Tribune flagship WPIX-11 in New York. Until his move to WPIX in June 2016, he was President/GM of Tribune’s WGN-9 in Chicago.

Renda has been associated with FOX O&Os for 22 years, joining WJW-8 in Cleveland in February 1997 as GM. He spent a decade there, before shifting the GM role at WTXF-29 in Philadelphia. It’s a post Renda and Easterly have in common, as the latter also served as WJW’s GM.

In September 2009, Renda shifted to Chicago, where he’d lead WFLD-32 as GM through 2012. In January 2013, he took over the GM slot at WJBK.
