With CEO Les Levi signing off on the deal, HC2 Broadcasting has moved forward with the acquisition of a low-power television station serving the northern Wisconsin city that’s home to the Packers.
In a transaction submitted on Friday for FCC regulatory approval, HC2 is purchasing WGBD-LD in Green Bay, Wisc., from Word of God Fellowship — the entity linked to Daystar.
With Mark Denbo of Smithwick & Belendiuk serving as the seller’s legal counsel and David O’Connor acting as the legal representative to Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP, a token price of $1 is being paid by HC2.
The deal comes as HC2’s quarterly earnings were shared by parent company Innovate Inc. on Thursday, and just days after the death of Daystar Television Network President Joni Lamb.
