The Nexstar Media Group-owned NBC affiliate serving Georgia’s Coastal Empire and the nearby Hilton Head-Beaufort-Bluffton region of South Carolina is getting a new News Director. He’ll start his new role on February 17.
Joining WSAV-3 in Savannah, Ga., is Connor Hackling. He’s inbound from WRBL-TV in Columbus, Ga., where he’s been the ND for 3 1/2 years and rose from a producer role at the station he’s been associated with since 2014.
“I am very excited to have Connor take over the leadership of our broadcast and digital news operations,” said WSAV VP/General Manager David Hart. “He brings a strong record of integrity, journalistic excellence, innovation, and staff development. I am confident Connor will build on that reputation as our news director and in doing so, significantly elevate the quality of local news, weather, and sports WSAV produces on all our platforms.”
Hackling added, “I look forward to leading news operations at a station such as WSAV, which has a great reputation for serving the community. There are many important things happening right now in the Coastal Empire of Georgia and Lowcountry region of South Carolina. It is my goal to lead a team that provides strong local news to our viewers.”
