GRAPEVINE, TEX. — He has been with FOX Television Stations’ KDFW-4 and KDFI-27, branded as “More 27,” in the Dallas-Fort Worth market since 1997. Now, this 13-year VP/Director of Sales is being promoted to the role of Senior Vice President/General Manager.

It’s a move that is possible with the recent retirement of Kathy Saunders.

Jeff Gurley now holds the role, gaining oversight for the stations’ business and operations. Gurley assumes this position immediately, reporting directly to FOX Television Stations CEO Jack Abernethy. He said of Gurley, “In Jeff’s 25+ years at KDFW/KDFI he has demonstrated a superior work ethic and a skill for delivering consistent and high quality results. He is an excellent choice to continue leading a stellar station.”

Gurley joined the Dallas-Fort Worth stations in the role of National Sales Manager, and was promoted to Local Sales Manager before rising to Vice President/General Sales Manager. Before joining the North Texas duo, he served as Team Manager for Seltel Television in Dallas. He’s also served as a National Account Executive at Petry Television in Dallas; as a Regional Sales Manager at KOTV-TV in Tulsa, and as a Local Account Executive at KDAF-TV in Dallas. Gurley began his career as a Local Account Executive at KFDM-TV in Beaumont-Port Arthur, Tex.

“I am honored to be the next General Manager of KDFW Fox 4 and KDFI More 27,” Gurley said. “Growing up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, combined with my 25+-year career at KDFW/KDFI has given me a good understanding of the history of these stations and their strong legacy position in the market. I am looking forward to building on the successes that we’ve had and growing our strong product across all platforms.”

Saunders spent 26 years as SVP/GM of KDFW-4 and KDFI-27, and departed at the end of June. Before that, she served in a similar role at then-Fox owned WFXT-25 in Boston.
