Money will change hands, along with a few other valuable documents and various forms of legal tender, but other wise, there do not figure to be any noticeable changes for the fans of WWTR-AM in Bridgewater NJ. That’s because the buyer has been running it for going on six years.

The station, part of the Middlesex-Somerset-Union NJ Arbitron market (which itself is part of the expansive New York City market), is going to EBC Music Inc., headed by Arvind Agrawal and Alka Agrawal. A TBA has been in place since 10/28/05.

The price will be $2.75M. $275K has been placed in escrow, and will be followed by a $2,062,500 cash payment and submission of a promissory note for $412,500.

The station is a Class D daytimer with 600 Watts on 1170 kHz.

We’ll let WWTR describe its own programming, as posted on its website:

“EBC Radio is now the most widely heard South Asian radio station in New Jersey, New York and Eastern Pennsylvania that has grown exponentially over the years. As the largest South Asian Radio station, EBC reaches a South Asian population of over 400,000 in listening area and bridges the gap between India and the America for its listeners.

The station says it offers “…a unique blend of programming in English and other South Asian languages, courtesy of a team of RJ’s that cater to all South Asian ethnicities.”
