On September 27, 1953, the city of Monroe, La., gained its first television station under the ownership of a former Louisiana Governor. Back then, it affiliated with every television network in operation. Today, it is a CBS affiliate, as it has been for the past 44 years.
Now, this venerable facility, under the ownership of Gray Television, is celebrating its birthday with a big renovation.
