Over the last two years, an entity led by Steven Lara has acquired a 1kw AM in Jasper, Ga., and its FM translator; a Myrtle Beach, S.C. property; and an AM with an all-important FM translator located in a community to the southeast of Raleigh.

Now, he’s a buyer again, thanks to an agreement with Bill Shanks‘ group.

WCEH-AM 610 in Hawkinsville, Ga., a Class D facility linked to FM translator W241CO at 96.1 MHz; and WDXQ-AM 1440 in Cochran, Ga.; a Class D linked to FM translator W244CL at 96.7 MHz; are being acquired by Lara’s Gorilla Broadcasting.

Cochran is southeast of Macon, Ga.; Hawkinsville is to the southwest of Cochran.

Shanks-led Shanks Broadcasting LLC is selling the properties for $390,000.

A $25,000 deposit is being held by Guest Technology & Brokers.

The remaining balance will be financed through a Promissory Note.

Shanks is known for his presence on “The Superstations: Georgia Sports Talk Radio.” Earlier this month, he teamed up with Road Trip LLC’s Howard Hollerman and Gay McMichael, the controlling interest holders in Shanks Broadcasting, in the purchase of W279AR in Jesup, Ga., a small city within the Savannah DMA.
