WASHINGTON, D.C. — The outspoken firebrand lone Democrat sitting as a FCC Commissioner has made it known that the Commission should conduct “a full, independent, and rigorous review of the foreign ownership interests embedded in the proposed Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger.”
As Paramount owns CBS, which holds broadcast licenses regulated by the FCC, any financial links to sovereign wealth funds from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi should be subject to strict scrutiny, Anna M. Gómez said.
