He’s been associated with the noncommercial, secular public radio stations serving the New York Tri-State Area since February 2019. Now, the Chief Content Officer for New York Public Radio is stepping down from the role.

The last day in the position for Andrew Golis is scheduled for September 15.

With his departure, the licensee of WNYC, the NPR Member station; Classical WQXR; and Gothamist.com “will take an opportunity to consider the best structure for WNYC Content leadership moving forward,” New York Public Radio CEO LaFontaine Oliver said in a memo distributed to staff.

SVP/Studios Kenya Young, SVP/News Audrey Cooper and WNYC Program Director Jacqueline Cincotta will report directly to Oliver on an interim basis. The Radiolab team will now report to Young; Radiolab is one of WNYC’s signature franchises.

Speaking of Golis, Oliver said, “I’ve only worked personally with Andrew for the last eight months, but I know he has contributed greatly to the content and culture of WNYC during his four years at NPR. He has been a steady hand through a period of institutional and industry-wide change, and he’s been a valued partner to me as I’ve charted my own first year here at NYPR.”
