GM kicks off “GM Reinvention”

As part of its rebirth after declaring bankruptcy this week, General Motors has launched a new campaign. “Let’s be completely honest, no company wants to go through this,” the first spot begins. “But we’re not witnessing the end of the American car. We’re witnessing the rebirth of the American car.”

The campaign reassures us that the new company will emerge with fewer, but stronger, more efficient brands. GM will be there in the future for sales, service, parts and innovation. GM VP of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing Mark LaNeve is featured in one of them, being frank and honest about what’s going on. At one point, he does a bit of marketing, mentioning how low the GM prices are right now for folks out there looking.

Another spot features engineers working on the new electric vehicle with an engine included only as a backup—The 2010 Volt.

The company’s new website, www.gmreinvention.com, showcases the new commercials, along with information about warranties and their bankruptcy filing.
