The individual who most recently served as VP/Sales for Tyler Media‘s nine radio stations has just been appointed Director of Sales for Entercom‘s five radio brands in the Big Easy.

Effective immediately, Gene Vidler will now oversee the sales efforts for Entercom’s WEZB-FM “B97;” WKBU-FM “Bayou 95.7;” WWWL-AM and its FM translator, branded as “Hot 103.7;” WLMG-FM “Magic 101.9” and News/Talk WWL-AM & FM in New Orleans.

“We are very happy to welcome Gene to the Entercom New Orleans team,” said Entercom SVP/Market Manager Chris Wegmann, Entercom’s SVP/Market Manager. “His experience and success in radio make him a great fit for our stations and the Saints Network. In essence he is returning back to where he spent his formative years in New Orleans.”

For Vidler, the shift to Louisiana’s biggest market is an entry into a “dream job,” he says, “working for radio stations that I grew up listening to as a kid and getting to work with the greatest football brands in the world.”

Vidler has held sales positions in Nebraska, Arkansas and Oklahoma. He started his radio sales career in Shreveport, Louisiana with Great Empire Broadcasting’s KWKH in 1993.

In 2000, he joined Cox Radio in Oklahoma as an account manager, then General Sales Manager of all of the stations in that cluster. He was later elevated to VP/Market Manager, a role he held until 2015.

Vidler has served on numerous boards in Oklahoma, including Red Cross, American Women in Radio and Television and Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters. Vidler attended Louisiana Tech University and was a member of the Louisiana National Guard.
