The licensee of a 6kw Class A radio station in the Shreveport, La., market that has been using the facility to bring a Spanish-language religious network to the region is being donated.

As such, “Fuzión” may be finito for this FM.

KVFZ-FM 92.1 in Benton, La., serving Bossier City and the Latino community of Shreveport, will soon be the property of Educational Radio Foundation of East Texas.

This suggests the non-profit’s KVNE-FM 89.5 in Tyler, Tex., will use KVFZ to expand its “Voice of Encouragement” to the adjacent DMA.

The current licensee of KVFZ is 6102 Seawall LLC. And, the licensee led by Carol and Jet Schuler is handing to ERFET an Elenois 5kw solid state transmitter, and all associated equipment tied to KVFZ.

KVFZ signed on the air in 1980 under the KDKS call letters. It is best-remembered for its short-lived Alternative format as KSYR-FM “92.1 The Buzz,” under the ownership of Chesley Maddox-Dorsey’s Access.1 Communications. Anthony Acampora-led Radiocrunch served as its consultant, making it one of his business’ first clients.
