From Nexstar To TEGNA’s Tidewater Property For Gregory

The man who has served as News Director of Nexstar Media Group’s KDVR “FOX 31” in Denver and sibling KWGN-2, the market’s home for The CW, has accepted the role of President/GM of the ABC affiliate serving Norfolk owned by the company formerly known as Gannett. He’ll join the TEGNA station in one week.


Taking the role at WVEC-13 in the Tidewater region of Virginia is Brian Gregory

Starting December 18., Gregory will be responsible for overseeing the station’s operations across all platforms, as well as community outreach efforts and driving results for advertisers.

Gregory’s resume includes roles as News Director for KWCH-12 in Wichita; as Asst. News Director at WVLT-TV in Knoxville; and as an Executive Producer at KOVR-TV in Sacramento. He began his career at WJET-TV in Erie, Pa., as a college student.

“Brian brings a proven track record of performance to his new position at WVEC,” said TEGNA SVP/Media Operations Paul Trelstad. “With more than 25 years of experience in our industry, including more than 20 in news management, his inclusive management style is evident in the results he’s achieved consistently throughout his career. He’ll be an excellent addition to our strong, capable team in Norfolk.”
