From Minor-League Baseball To Local Radio Sales Head

In 2002 and 2003, he was a shortstop for the Spokane Indians and Burlington Bees, minor league baseball clubs linked to the Kansas City Royals, after playing collegiate baseball for Mankato State University. He then transitioned to media sales at the predecessor to iHeartMedia.


Meet the new SVP/Sales for the company’s radio stations serving Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Now overseeing the iHeartMedia radio stations in the market is Eric Lonnquist. He will be responsible for sales and strategy, leading a team of five managers and 25 account executives. Lonnquist will report to Greg Alexander, Market President for iHeartMedia Minneapolis. He calls Lonnquist “a seasoned sales professional in the Minneapolis market” who has an “extensive background in media sales. Combined with his leadership roles in major market sales, [this] makes him the perfect fit for our team.”

Lonnquist commented, “I’m incredibly grateful and excited to be joining the iHeartMedia team in Minneapolis. I look forward to leveraging our strong cross-platform presence and working with such a talented team to help our clients achieve their advertising goals. The Twin Cities radio brands iHeartMedia owns are comprised of Top 40 KDWB, Country KEEY, KFXN-FM “KFAN FM 100.3,” KTCZ “Cities 97,” KTLK “Twin Cities News Talk,” KQQL “Kool 108,” KTCZ-HD3 “HOT 102.5,” and both the local BIN: Black Information Network affiliate and “FAN+” sports offerings.
