He’s been nestled in the Tri-State region that includes Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Paducah, Ky.; and communities in Illinois since December 2017, when he joined Max Media’s River Radio properties as Director of Sales and General Sales Manager.
Now, you can call Jack Swart the General Manager.
For River Radio, Swart brings more than four decades of broadcast leadership experience to the role, having built a career rooted in sales growth, market development, and community engagement across multiple radio markets throughout the Midwest and Southeast.
“Throughout his career, he has been recognized for leadership excellence, including being named General Manager of the Year during his tenure with Connoisseur Media,” River Radio noted.
From October 2013 to early 2015, Swart was GM of Connoisseur’s former Bloomington, Ind., properties, returning to the group to oversee WBBE, WIHN and WWHX after a previous stint as GM from May 2008-February 2012. He would the work for Jim Leven and Bruce Mittman as Market Manager for Community Broadcasters’ stations serving Sumter, S.C., to the southwest of Florence.
Swart has also been GM for Midwest Communications’ Terre Haute, Ind., stations, and Market Manager for Cumulus Media in the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois from January 2001-May 2007. In the late 1990s, Swart was a Market Manager for Saga Communications.
His career also includes a role from April 1986 to January 1990 as GM for Fetzer Broadcasting’s WJFM in Grand Rapids, and as GM of WNDU-AM & WNDV-FM (U93) in South Bend, Ind., ahead of a five-year run at Schurz Communications, serving as a market-level GM.
