It’s a city made famous by legendary basketball star Larry Bird. Now, French Lick, Ind., is in the news as a Class A radio station licensed to the town to the northwest of Louisville, Ky., is about to head to a new owner.
Willtronics Broadcasting, led by William Gerald Willis and Catherine H. Willis, is selling WFLQ-FM 100.1 in French Lick.
The buyer is Pivotal Opportunities LLC, led by Christopher Scott Ruth and Erica Ruth.
A $415,000 purchase price was agreed to by the parties, with a $45,000 escrow deposit being held at Paoli, Ind., law firm Tucker & Tucker.
WFLQ signed on the air in April 1983, and today airs a Country format. And, like many small-town radio stations, is a home for “Tradio,” an on-air swap shop.
