Fox's reality competition 'Masterchef' No. 2 at 9pm

MASTERCHEF tied its highest ratings of the summer.


Even with numerous premieres and specials airing on cable last night, MASTERCHEF grew week over week and FOX ranked #2 among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens.

Following a MASTERCHEF encore at 8pm (1.2/4), an original MASTERCHEF at 9pm posted a 2.2/6 among Adults 18-49, up +5% versus both last week’s Tuesday telecast (2.1/6 on 7/5/11) and its performance in the Monday time period two weeks ago (2.1/6 on 6/27/11).

MASTERCHEF tied its highest ratings of the summer so far among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and posted its highest ratings so far this summer in all key female demos.  In addition, MASTERCHEF won its 9p hour in all key male demos and ranked #2 among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens.

Competition
Week seven of ABC’s The Bachelorette (2.5/7) was down -4%. At 10p, new series Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition (1.9/5) posted its lowest original rating to date, down -14% from its last original.

CBS aired repeats of How I Met Your Mother (1.2/4), Mike & Molly (1.2/4), Two and a Half Men (1.5/4), Mike & Molly (1.3/3), and Hawaii Five-0 (1.0/3).

Following a repeat America’s Got Talent (1.5/5), NBC’s Law & Order: Criminal Intent (0.8/2) dropped -20% from its last original to its summer low.  At 10pm, the series finale of Law & Order: LA (1.0/3) declined -29% from its last original and hit its series low.
