There’s been chatter among some independent broadcast television station owners and several media brokers about how the FCC could rethink, or erase altogether, the Congressionally mandated 39% broadcast TV ownership cap based on national reach. For some, the Commission under Chairman Brendan Carr could treat “Big Four” broadcast network owned-and-operated stations differently than those owned by companies with stations affiliated with these networks.
FOX Television Stations has made its case that there is no discernable difference between the two, and the FCC needs to understand this.
