FOX Television Stations is readying the launch of a locally produced 30-minute program that will air exclusively on its owned-and-operated property in Houston — an offering that sees the transition of a “FOX 26” reporter to host of an offering “designed to celebrate women’s resilience and empowerment.”
“Chattin’ with Chelsea!” will debut August 26 on KRIV-26 in Houston, with station SVP/General Manager D’Artagnan Bebel making the announcement on Thursday.
It sees Chelsea Edwards move from the news team to the chat show, which will air weekdays at 12:30pm Central. It will also appear on FOX Local and FOX Soul.
Bebel explained the selection of Edwards for the forthcoming show by saying, “Chelsea is a native Houstonian who has spent years earning the trust of our viewers by diving into the issues that affect our communities. With her vibrant and charismatic personality, she is perfectly suited to provide humor and levity while amplifying diverse perspectives and sharing stories that matter.”
According to FOX Television Stations, “Chattin’ with Chelsea!” will highlight how modern-day women navigate life’s complexities, from family and careers, to relationships, health, beauty, wellness, and social issues. “The goal will be to inform, uplift, and inspire through conversations about all topics that affect Houston’s women, ranging from parenting, to fitness, today’s dating scene, managing a successful professional life, and cooking on the go.”
Each episode of the program will feature a mix of experts, celebrities, and local women as guests.
Edwards commented, “Unveiling a show dedicated to the celebration and empowerment of women is an absolute dream realized. It fills me with an indescribable joy to transition from reporting news to creating content that is not only enjoyable but insightful too. This isn’t just a program; it’s a movement where every woman’s voice is heard and cherished.”
Edwards joined KRIV-TV in 2019 and served as a morning news reporter and fill-in anchor on “Houston’s Morning Show.” Previously, she was a reporter for KWTX-10 in Waco, Tex. Earlier in her career, Edwards spent six years at ABC Owned Stations’ KTRK-13 in Houston as a video editor.
