Verizon Wireless and Volkswagen are in as committed sponsors to one of the biggest sporting events in the world, and FOX Networks Group is the beneficiary of the dollars.

The wireless telecommunications brand and the German automotive brand will see their logos spread across FOX’s multi-platform coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, planned for June 14–July 15 across 11 host cities.

Verizon will sponsor the halftime shows, one for each of the 64 matches airing across FOX Sports. Volkswagen will sponsor the post-game shows, which will air after every match.

Fox Networks Group EVP/Advertising Sales Bruce Lefkowitz said, “The world’s biggest sporting event only comes around every four years, and we are delighted that Verizon and Volkswagen are joining FOX Sports as it brings viewers what is sure to be the most captivating summer program of 2018.”

Lefkowitz added that the pace of sales his network is experiencing across FOX’s networks and platforms “reflects the excitement and anticipation of millions of soccer fans across the country who will be tuning in for around-the-clock FIFA World Cup action from Russia.”

Meanwhile, FOX Sports says it is in “advanced discussions” with FIFA partners including adidas and Coca-Cola.
