Advertising-focused media measurement company VideoAmp has appointed the former Senior Vice President of Ad Sales Strategy for FOX Sports to serve as its new Head of Sports Strategy — a position that sees VideoAmp seek to spur growth in its sports practice and “enhance the company’s measurement efforts within the industry.”
Accepting the new role is Dan Donnelly.
Donnelly will focus his effort on addressing what VideoAmp calls “the need for accurate cross-platform measurement in the fragmented sports media landscape, strengthening and expanding VideoAmp’s portfolio of partnerships and accelerating technological capabilities to meet the rising demand for precision in sports advertising.”
Donnelly is a 20-year marketing, advertising and brand partnerships veteran.
His career includes leadership roles at Publicis Media’s U.S. Sports and Entertainment division and Starcom Mediavest Group. “He has a strong track record of successfully negotiating multiple high-profile media partnerships with major sports leagues, securing multi-year TV deals for Anheuser-Busch across the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, NASCAR, NCAA, PGA Tour, Olympics, and World Cup Soccer,” VideoAmp said in a statement.
“VideoAmp could not be more excited to welcome Dan on board to lead our Sports practice,” commented Bryan Goski, Executive Vice President of Revenue at VideoAmp. “As a 20-year industry veteran with deep expertise with agencies, brands, and publishers in the Sports vertical, I have no doubt that he will add immense value to our team and help us realize our mission to provide the highest quality of measurement to our partners.”
VideoAmp’s advanced OOH measurement products rely on “big data” from TVs and smartphones to provide “actionable insights.”
In VideoAmp’s view, Donnelly will play a pivotal role in strengthening and expanding the company’s portfolio, which includes “Netflix Raw/WWE” and CBS Sports.
