Audience measurement services from Nielsen will continue to flow to FOX Television Stations for a long time to come.

The local broadcast TV arm of FOX and Nielsen announced Wednesday morning that they’ve inked a new long-term renewal agreement.

This new pact encompasses all of FOX Television Stations’ 28 stations across 17 DMAs. Most importantly, the new deal includes FOX’s Charlotte O&Os — FOX WJZY-46 and My Network WMYT-55 (Branded as “My 12”). These two stations were not in the previous agreement.

WJZY and WMYT were acquired in 2013 by FOX in an $18 million deal with Capitol Broadcasting.

FOX Station Sales, the company’s national sales representative group, is also part of the renewal agreement.

The agreement includes Nielsen’s announced plans to bring Portable People Meter (PPM) data to its local TV panels, augmenting data collected from set-top-boxes.

“FOX continues to be at the forefront of delivering valuable local content to its viewers,” said Nielsen Local Media Managing Director Jeff Wender. “This strategic agreement builds on the long-term relationship and mutual respect that exists between FOX Television Stations Group and Nielsen. We are excited to deliver an enhanced local measurement portfolio for more strategic decision making and increased ROI to advertisers.”
