New Vision Television’s KOIN-TV (CBS) Portland, OR and other local media outlets report that federal agents on Thursday arrested for KOIN News Director Jeff Alan at his home in suburban Portland. A federal grand jury indicted him on charges of making false statements to three banks and to multiple government agencies.
The charges stem from allegations that he used a false Social Security number since at least 2004.
According to the Oregonian newspaper, Jeffery Alan Brent, his real name, vanished from his family in California in the mid-1980s and was declared legally dead in 1993.
Using the name Jeff Alan, he worked as KOIN’s ND from 2006 to 2008.
