DAYTON, OHIO — He was a finalist for Radio Ink Market Manager of the Year in both 2019 and 2020 in recognition of time at the helm of iHeartMedia‘s Poughkeepsie, N.Y. radio stations. Since 2018, he’s been running the company’s Indianapolis stations as a Market President.

Now, he’s taken I-70 east to I-75 and traveled a couple of hours to Ohio’s Gem City, where he’ll take on a group of stations that include “Hot 102.9” and “JACK FM.”

The Ides of March has become the first day on the job as SVP/Market Manager for Alpha Media‘s Dayton stations for Brett Beshore.

The longtime radio industry leader will report to Regional President and Chief Compliance Officer Bill McElveen and gains oversight of Rhythmic Top 40 WDHT-FM “Hot 102.9”; Adult R&B WROU-FM 92.1; Country WCLI-FM “101.5 Hank FM”; Adult Hits WGTZ-FM “92.9 JACK FM”; and Sports Talk WING-AM, an ESPN Radio affiliate.

Beshore will be taking on a role held by the now-retired Keith Wright.

McElveen commented, “We’ve been searching for the best possible candidate to lead our
awesome team in Dayton, and Brett brings all of Alpha’s core values to the market. He knows how to lead a team and serve a great market and we’re excited to welcome him aboard.”

Beshore added, “I’m thrilled for the opportunity to join ‘the Pack’ at Alpha Media. Alpha’s
Dayton stations have a highly talented team and a solid track record of success in the market with heritage brands. I look forward to serving our advertiser partners and providing great content for our listeners. I can’t wait to tell the story and find ways to use our stations to build and promote the great city of Dayton.”

Before taking the top role for iHeart’s Indianapolis cluster, Beshore was a division president for Clear Channel Outdoor, a position he held from November 2011-December 2017. Before that, Beshore spent two years leading iHeart’s Hudson Valley, N.Y., stations from Poughkeepsie.

Beshore first joined iHeart (then Clear Channel Communications) following a successful stint as VP/GM for Times Shamrock in Scranton; he was VP/Market GM for Cumulus Media in Danbury, Conn., from 2007-2008. He’s also run Backyard Broadcasting’s Muncie, Ind., stations, and from 2000-2005 was GSM of Greater Media’s Philadelphia radio properties.
