This deal is going down on the banks of the Big Muddy, and this is one is a lot more equitable than if might appear at face value.

The full power station is KQJO-FM. It’s licensed to St. Joseph LA as a Class A on 99.3 MHz with 100 W @ 188’.
Its owner is SSR Communications Inc. Matthew Wesolowski signed off on the transfer application.
The FM translator is K279CH CP Tallulah LA, on 103.7 MHz. The translator has 25 W @ 286.
Both stations are located near the Mississippi River. KQJO-FM is south of Tallulah LA. Tallulah is west of unrated Vicksburg MS, which in turn is west of Jackson MS.
Despite their respective current technical parameters, the translator’s edge in power and height is temporary. KQJO-FM has a CP to upgrade to Class C3 with 14.5 kW @ 433’
The translator is owned by Black Media Works, headed by Raymond A. Kassis, Josephine A. Lian and Kimberly Holman-Kassis.
BMW will convert KQJO to a noncom. It and its directors have interests in stations in Florida and Louisiana.
