Finale: 'Survivor: Redemption Island' strong showing for CBS

The two-hour season finale of SURVIVOR: REDEMPTION ISLAND, which saw “Boston” Rob Mariano emerge as the sole survivor, led CBS to a Sunday win in viewers and key demographics, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for May 15.


From 8:00-10:00 PM, SURVIVOR: REDEMPTION ISLAND FINALE (S) (which ran past 10:00 PM) was first in households (7.1/11), viewers (13.10m), adults 25-54 (5.2/12) and adults 18-49 (4.0/10).

SURVIVOR: REDEMPTION ISLAND REUNION SHOW (S), which included several minutes of the finale, was first in viewers (11.28m), adults 25-54 (4.6/10) and adults 18-49 (3.5/08). 

Compared to last year’s spring REUNION SHOW (on the same night last year), SURVIVOR: REDEMPTION ISLAND REUNION SHOW was up +5% in households (from 5.9/10), +2% in adults 25-54 (from 4.5/11) and added +630,000 viewers (from 10.65m, +6%).

 At 7:00 PM, 60 MINUTES was first in households (7.7/14), viewers (12.03m), adults 25-54 (2.7/07) and second in adults 18-49 (1.7/05, -0.1 behind ABC). 

For the night, CBS was first in households (7.0/11), viewers (12.38m), adults 25-54 (4.4/10) and adults 18-49 (3.3/10).
