WASHINGTON, D.C. — Junior Republican FCC Commissioner Nathan Simington has appointed a Senior Legal Advisor and, concurrently, his Legal Advisor.

Taking the top role is a former Attorney Advisor in the Competition Policy Division of the Wireline Competition Bureau.

That would be David Brodian, who is accompanied by Sara Rahmjoo, who will serve as Legal Advisor to Simington.

Simington’s policy advisor, Michael Sweeney, is being detailed to another role in government. “His contributions to our office cannot be overstated and I look forward to his return,” Simington said, noting that he’s “excited to continue my work with Sara, and I look forward to working with David.”

Brodian and Simington each worked at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) prior to joining the FCC. Brodian also served in roles on the U.S. House of Representatives Energy & Commerce Committee, and the Department of Commerce Office of General Counsel.

Rahmjoo previously served as Commissioner Simington’s Policy Advisor and Confidential Assistant. She joined the Commission as an intern to Commissioner Simington in 2023. She earned her M.B.A. from American University Kogod School of Business.
