In March, newly appointed Media Bureau Chief Holly Saurer initiated a Hearing Designation Order designed to determine whether Joseph Armstrong remains fit to own an AM radio station in Powell, Tenn.

The issue: An August 2016 jury decision led to the conviction of Armstrong of one felony count of fraud and false statements under 26 U.S.C. section 7206(1) for filing a false federal income tax return.

Now, the FCC’s Administrative Law Judge has directed Armstrong and its Arm & Rage, through the Presiding Judge, to produce additional documents that the Enforcement Bureau wishes to review in the case.
