FCC Opens it up

The FCC’s July Open Meeting is being held in New York City tomorrow 7/29/08 in a session devoted to the difficulties getting communications acquisition financing for socially-disadvantaged businesses. Then on Friday, 8/1/08, it’ll convene the August meeting, making it a rare twofer week. We looked at the agenda for the Tuesday meeting at length here

The Friday session will have the cut and dried “Assessment and Collection of Regulatory Fees for Fiscal Year 2008” and two other items of interest to phone companies.

RBR/TVBR observation: If nothing else, the FCC powers that be have signaled their interest in subscribing to the prevailing sentiment that sweeps our nation’s capital every August, that being: “if at all possible, get out of town.”
